STRATEGY
Montessori Phoenix Projects' programs and actions are in a constant state of re-prioritization. Nonetheless, MPP maintains an overall plan within the following general areas
v Schedule and produce at least two workshops per month
v Have courses accredited in each country in order that participants are able to receive professional development or higher education credit
v Initiate a volunteer Community Service program managing the collection, repair, warehousing, and distribution of Montessori materials
v Generate and maintain collaborations with directors of International non-governmental organizations in each MPP course country. [Rather than work alone, MPP invites NGOs to collaborate with the effort: constructing school buildings in the remote and rural villages to suit the Montessori environment, equipping classrooms with specified furnishings, funding participant’s transportation to workshops, initiating economic development schemes of community material-making industries where Montessori and other instructional aids are manufactured, and providing course supplies.]
v Maintain a volunteer media team to video tape workshop sessions and edit for online and DVD courses (including translation into relevant languages) for distribution to Practicum Centers and the MPP website for downloading
v Document teacher-made activities from MPP participants worldwide to share online
v Document child-rearing practices (cradles, childbirth techniques, feeding and food, entertainment, education, bedtime, childcare) childhood experiences (games, chores, education, friendship, work, play) in MPP countries
v Establish a Montessori materials making industry: present formal request to Mondragon Cooperativa Corporacion (MCC) in Mondragon, Spain for a donation of their computerized lathe/drill press for wood and metal. [The machine will be housed in a warehouse in Tecate where approximately 100 locals will be employed to manufacture Montessori math and sensorial materials]
v Prepare teacher education and classroom construction strategies for each country based on demographics, population density, and NGO presence
v Conduct research and publish findings in professional journals and at professional conferences
v Maintain a publicity campaign
