MPP BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Rebecca Keith - Vice President, Co-Founder, and Director of Teacher Education is certified as a primary and elementary Montessori teacher educator. Keith has been training teachers since 1981. She founded and has been administrating One World Montessori School since 1979. Keith has written peace curricula, authored manuals for U.N. Day and Earth Day celebrations, and is a renown lecturer at major universities and educational conferences.
Berta Harris, M.S. - Secretary of the Board and Director of Accreditation, continues to contribute her knowledge and expertise in the areas of accreditation, offering the courses online and bringing a Montessori course with online capacities to the community college level, raising awareness in all her courses about the Montessori foundations and a more global perspective on family dynamics.
Nancy Williams, Ed.D. - President, Co-Founder, and Program Director, has a doctoral degree in education specializing in leadership from University of San Francisco. Nancy continues to be engaged in interpretive research in the following areas: 1) teacher preparation course ability to sustain transformational processes via informal dissemination, 2) infrastructure of community esteem, and 3) sustainable community development. She is an educational reform consultant specializing in designing and implementing large-scale, teacher preparation courses in resource-limited and opportunity-deprived communities. Nancy's strategies synthesize and reflect the following: situation immediacy, social concerns, cultural trends, human development, honoring diversity, inclusivity, resource-availability, opportunity channels (e.g. NGO field workers, funding agents), and budgets.
Board Accomplishments
As part of a long-term strategy for Montessori to be the default public educational system worldwide, Rebecca and Nancy developed teacher preparation courses that bridge the gap between traditional and Montessori teaching styles.
